How To Set Up A Meta Business Portfolio

Consolidating your accounts within a business portfolio is the current standard for owning your social accounts.

Setting up a Meta Business Portfolio (formerly Facebook Business Manager) is the best way to keep your professional assets separate from your personal profile and the easiest way to share your pages with vendors and employees and will also save you plenty of headaches in the future.

To create a business portfolio, go here: business.facebook.com/overview

  1. Click Create Account.
  2. Enter the Business Name for your portfolio, your name, and your business email address.
  3. Follow the prompts to enter your business details (address, phone number, and website).

Once the account is created, you need to move your Page into this portfolio.

  1. Go to Business Settings
  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Accounts > Pages.
  3. Click the Add button.
  4. Select Add a Page if you already own it, or Create a New Page if you’re starting from scratch.
    1. If you’re trying to add a page that you don’t have access to, you can request access here via this process. An admin of the business portfolio currently managing the page will need to approve the request for you to gain access.

FYI: If the page is owned by an individual, the steps are slightly different.

The best plan here is to gain admin access to the page and then add it to your portfolio. Or to have the owner added to your Meta Business Portfolio and then have them add the page to it themselves.
